Kirana Likha’s mission is to bring colourful joy into your life and to support local communities in Indonesia.“Kirana Likha" means the bright, uplifting energy of the sun. Thus, we want to bring this spirit into every product we make, ensuring each one is full of fun and joy.

A Short History

Kirana Likha was founded by Arista in 2019 in Bali, where she started selling clothing and accessories made from Batik crafted in her late father’s small factory. In 2023, Arista expanded Kirana Likha to the Netherlands, where it is now based in The Hague.

Before moving to the Netherlands, Arista was inspired by her aunt, Yana, who created beautiful crochet bags. Fascinated by Yana’s talent, Arista asked her aunt to make a vibrant checkered crochet bag, as she was absolutely obsessed with the design. Seeing her aunt’s skills and knowing she was a stay-at-home mom, Arista wanted to help Yana earn an income from home and achieve financial independence. This led to the idea of introducing crochet bags to the Netherlands. What started with just four colour combinations has grown into a diverse collection, bringing joy and purpose to every creation.

Kirana Likha is dedicated to supporting a community of talented women in Java. We don’t engage in mass production! Instead, every piece is carefully handmade, allowing us to provide a fair income and support their livelihoods. With each purchase, you directly contribute to this empowering journey.

SUSTAINABILITY

We embrace slow, ethical craftsmanship. Each crochet piece is thoughtfully handmade by a community of women in Java—many of them housewives—offering creative purpose and financial support. We also use thrifted beads for our necklaces and repurposed yarn for some scrunchies, giving forgotten materials a second life.

Our products are crafted with durable, easy-to-care-for materials and made to be cherished for years—not just for a season. Every item is designed with attention to detail, blending timeless style with everyday ease. At Kirana Likha, we believe beauty should be meaningful, long-lasting, and kind to the planet.
